Wag your tail

I've been told by 4 or 5 very reputable people that the simple act of writing your thoughts down can actually change the way your mind processes that information.  So in search of further enlightenment I'm going to explore this avenue of,    mmm  .....   therapy?  I have no idea what this blog will turn into so I'm just going to start writing and see what happens.

After much deliberation  procrastination I've decided to start putting my thoughts down on cyber-paper (scary thought, that).  Self one: "No wait, that's bad self-talk."  Self two: No it isn't.  Self one: "Yes it is!"  Self three: Actually, you guys, this is self-argument.  Whoa!  I guess I've been shrunk enough so that I can now realize when I'm having internal disagreements with myself.   :)

Saw a great bumper sticker the other day and I find myself thinking about it a lot.  On the back of a compact car it said "Wag more, bark less".  That really tickled me because it said so with much just four simple words.  Imagine how much better life on this planet would be if everyone would follow that brief dictum.

Something seemed to click in my minds and I realized that for a long time I'd been barking too much and not wagging enough.  A few days later while driving around our fair city I found I was feeling much more patient with bad drivers and crowded traffic.  Hmm, I thought, maybe that's another way to wag my tail.  The next day I forgot something at the store and was thinking, "Darn, I forgot the milk!".  Then I told myself  "So what?  Does it really matter that much?"  After a bit of thought I felt a sense of calmness infuse me and I swear I could feel my blood pressure slowly drop back toward normal.  I'm hoping that was a case of intentional tail wagging, only directed inwardly.  I'm looking forward to have a lot more opportunities to wag my tail in the upcoming days, weeks, .....
